Man, 55, dies after swimming incident on Martha’s Vineyard, prompting beach closures<\/p>\n

A 55-year-old man died during a swimming incident on Martha’s Vineyard, the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office announced. <\/p>\n

On Friday, West Tisbury police responded to a swimming incident at Long Point, where a male swimmer was pulled from the water after they struggled to return to shore, police said.<\/p>\n

The person, later identified as Kevin Foster, 55, of Cambridge, was taken to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n

All Long Point Wildlife Refuge Beaches on Martha’s Vineyard were closed Sunday after the incident. <\/p>\n

All reservations will be refunded and the beaches are expected to be opened on Monday, The Trustees at Martha’s Vineyard announced.
