San Francisco\u2019s poor record of investigating sexual assault cases<\/a> \u2014 in particular, how the Police Department cleared just 14% of its rape cases last year \u2014 residents were, understandably, upset.<\/p>\n\u201cWe\u2019re talking 14% \u2014 just sitting with that number is revolting to me,\u201d Commissioner Shokooh Miry said at a July 22 meeting of San Francisco\u2019s Commission on the Status of Women.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only thing worse than the message that sends to survivors of sexual assault is the message it sends to rapists,\u201d said Supervisor Matt Dorsey, \u201cthat the odds of ever being held accountable in San Francisco are remote.\u201d<\/p>\n
