Photo by Sarah Fries<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tpublished on August 5, 2026 &#8211; 1:41 PM<br \/>Written by <a href=\"https:\/\/thebusinessjournal.com\/byline\/emi-obrero\/\" rel=\"tag nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emi Obrero<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Founder Varouj Kachichian announced the closure in an Instagram post Tuesday<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Bakery built on a \u201cfood as medicine\u201d philosophy served the celiac community since 2022<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fresno\u2019s first exclusively gluten-free and celiac-safe bakery, <a href=\"https:\/\/thebusinessjournal.com\/fresnos-first-exclusively-gluten-free-bakery-opens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Indulge Right Bakery,<\/a> will permanently close both of its locations, the business announced in an Instagram post Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Varouj Kachichian, known to customers as \u201cChef V,\u201d launched the bakery in Fresno in November 2022 to <a href=\"https:\/\/thebusinessjournal.com\/no-gluten-all-gain-fresno-baker-builds-a-safe-haven-for-foodies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">give local residents access to baked goods that accommodate gluten intolerance.<\/a> A Clovis location opened in September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Built around Kachichian\u2019s philosophy of food as \u201cmedicine,\u201d the bakery offered gluten-free, sugar-free and soy-free options that were high in fiber at both sites.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-95064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/indulge-right-case.jpg\" alt=\"sweets case\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"  \/>The baked goods case at The Bakery by Indulge Right calls to gluten-free eaters with a sweet tooth. Photo by Sarah Fries<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kachichian announced the closure Tuesday, effective immediately, in a post directed to customers. He thanked them for their support and loyalty and expressed his dismay at the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am saddened to leave our GF community without a safe haven to enjoy amazing baked goods and great food without the risk of cross-contamination, with absolute certainty of a 100% gluten-free experience for yourself and your family,\u201d Kachichian said.<\/p>\n<p>Kachichian did not provide further detail about the closure. He invited customers to contact him for custom flour blends, support for future gluten-free cooking or coaching on creating blends and recipes suited to their sensitivities.<\/p>\n<p>Customers who recently placed orders for upcoming dates will be refunded, he said.
