Laserfiche, a Long Beach company and global leader in artificial intelligence-driven content management, celebrated its 50th anniversary by recently making a generous donation to support MemorialCare Miller Children\u2019s & Women\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n

During the company\u2019s annual summer fundraiser last month, Laserfiche surprised hospital leaders with a $50,000 gift to support the children\u2019s hospital, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor years, Laserfiche has been an extraordinary community partner, supporting our patients through toy drives, holiday campaigns, fundraising events and countless acts of kindness,\u201d Lara Khouri, CEO of Miller Children\u2019s & Women\u2019s Hospital, said in a statement. \u201cThis generous anniversary gift will help ensure children and families continue to receive the compassion, comfort and hope they need during some of life\u2019s most challenging moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the event, Khouri thanked Laserfiche employees and leadership for their continued partnership, and support for children and families throughout the community, the press release said. The donation will help the hospital\u2019s Cherese Maril Laulhere Child Life team continue providing comfort, education and emotional support for children facing hospitalization and medical treatment, she said.<\/p>\n

The Child Life Program was developed to help make the hospital experience a more positive one for children of all ages. The program has provided more than 50 years of patient- and family-centered care to patients, offering developmental, educational and emotional support, according to the hospital\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

As one of only eight freestanding children\u2019s hospitals in California, Miller Children\u2019s & Women\u2019s Hospital cares for thousands of kids each year through specialized inpatient, outpatient and emergency care.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m incredibly proud of our team for coming together to celebrate 50 years of Laserfiche while making a meaningful impact in the community,\u201d Karl Chan, CEO of Laserfiche, said in a statement. \u201cThe enthusiasm and generosity displayed by our employees throughout this fundraiser reflect the values that have guided our company for five decades. We are honored to support Miller Children\u2019s & Women\u2019s Hospital and help make a difference for children and families who rely on their care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hospital and company employees participated in karaoke and lip-sync performances throughout the July 9 event, including a special performance of \u201cDancing Queen\u201d by members of the Child Life Program\u2019s Music Therapy team, the press release said.
