(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Valley Plaza Mall has introduced a new Preferred Parking program designed to give shoppers the option of having a guaranteed, upfront parking space in a section of the parking lot for a fee, while continuing to offer free parking.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson with GGP said the new program is intended to address one of the most common challenges guests face: finding a convenient parking space.<\/p>\n<p>Valley Plaza Mall features more than 5,632 parking spaces, with only 240 spaces designated as Preferred Parking. The remaining parking spaces continue to be available free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>The cost for Preferred Parking is $2.45 for the first hour, followed by $2 per additional hour, with a maximum daily charge of $10.<\/p>\n<p>The GGP spokesperson said 10% of all proceeds from Preferred Parking will be donated to the Kern County Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization selected by the Valley Plaza Mall management team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
