With hot weather expected to continue through the week, Los Angeles County health officials Wednesday were warning beachgoers to avoid entering the ocean at several beaches because of elevated bacteria levels that could increase the risk of illness.<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued ocean water warnings for the following locations:<\/p>\n
\u2014 Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove; 100 yards up and down the coast from Paradise Cove Pier;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach, entire swim area;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Venice Pier, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier;<\/p>\n
\u2014 East Wilshire Boulevard storm drain at Santa Monica Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Mother\u2019s Beach in Marina del Rey, entire swim area;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, entire swim area; and<\/p>\n
\u2014 Santa Monica Pier, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.<\/p>\n
Health officials said the warnings were issued after recent water samples showed bacteria levels exceeding state health standards, which may increase the risk of illness.<\/p>\n
