A Fresno chocolate maker has a sweet treat for sale at 50 California Costco<\/a> stores \u2014 and you can try them for free this weekend.<\/p>\n

A\u2019cappella Chocolate<\/a> \u2014 owned by the Debbas family, which also runs the longtime Debbas Gourmet<\/a> \u2014 is selling a treat described as \u201cmaple bars in chip form.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Maple Glazed Donut Crisps are made with fresh donut dough pressed into thin, airy chips and covered with a maple glaze.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt tastes like a donut because it is a donut \u2014 we just made it snackable,\u201d said Max Debbas in a news release.<\/p>\n

Debbas is the founder of A\u2019cappella Chocolate. He\u2019s also the son of Guy Debbas, whose G. Debbas Chocolatier company made chocolates for Trader Joe\u2019s, BevMo!, Target and other big retailers for decades.<\/p>\n

The crisps are made at A\u2019cappella Chocolate\u2019s factory in Fresno.<\/p>\n

The donut crisps are for sale at Fresno Costco stores, along with stores in Visalia, Hanford, Merced and Modesto. Every store in Costco\u2019s Bay Area division carries them, which includes Northern California, the Central Valley and Northern Nevada. The full list of stores is on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Maple Glazed Donut Crisps are also available through SameDay.Costco.com<\/a> and Instacart<\/a> (and you don\u2019t need a Costco membership when ordering through Instacart).<\/p>\n

All the Costco stores that carry the product will offer free samples on Sunday, Aug. 9. The stores handle their own sampling, so it\u2019s not exactly clear when, but they should offer the samples most of the day, according to Debbas.<\/p>\n

Non-Costco members can also find smaller bags of the crisps at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods.<\/p>\n
