BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A Kern County teen\u2019s Make-A-Wish for a clarinet came true Friday morning.<\/p>\n

On Friday, August 8, 2026, Make-A-Wish Central Coast and Southern Central Valley granted a teen\u2019s wish to have a clarinet.<\/p>\n

The teen, Marques Urbano, will receive the instrument to help him continue pursuing his passion for music.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor Marques, music is more than a hobby. It is a source of comfort, confidence, and self-expression,\u201d said in a release. \u201cThe teen dreams of having a high-quality clarinet of his own so he can continue developing his musical talents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marques was diagnosed with kidney disease after becoming critically ill and requiring emergency treatment at Children\u2019s Hospital. Since then, ongoing dialysis treatments have become a regular part of his routine.<\/p>\n

Marques arrived at Nick Rail Music to receive his wish in a limo.<\/p>\n

Marques, a Delano graduate, said he was surprised when he was picked by Make-a-Wish. “It’s very surreal, I think.
