Domestic violence suspect in custody after hours-long standoff with Sacramento police<\/p>\n

Officers detained a domestic violence suspect after trying to draw him out of a Sacramento home for hours, according to police<\/p>\n

The Sacramento Police Department said it responded to reports of a domestic violence incident in the 1000 block of 43rd Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The male suspect, 43-year-old Dennis Stenholm, was already wanted on a felony warrant, police said. <\/p>\n

Police said Stenholm, who had out of county warrants for assault with a deadly weapon and felony hit and run, refused to exit the residence. <\/p>\n

SWAT personnel responded to the scene, police said. They smashed through the window of the home in an attempt to gain access. <\/p>\n

Around 6:30 p.m. Stenholm was detained. He was alone in the house, officials said. Police said no injuries have been reported in relation to the incident. <\/p>\n

Stenholm was charged with resisting arrest and possessing a firearm while having a restraining order. <\/p>\n
