PHOENIX — Shohei Ohtani<\/a> brought home the go-ahead run in the 10th inning on an infield single and the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> snapped a seven-game losing streak by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> 2-1<\/a> on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The Dodgers won despite Edwin Diaz<\/a> blowing his second consecutive save after losing a 1-0 lead in the ninth.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles rallied with two outs in the 10th when Hunter Feduccia<\/a> walked and automatic runner Kyle Tucker<\/a> moved to third on a wild pitch. Ohtani followed with a grounder to the right side that first baseman Tim Tawa<\/a> dove to knock down but couldn’t recover to record an out.<\/p>\n

Jack Dreyer<\/a> earned his first save of the season, getting the final two outs by fielding a comebacker from Ryan Waldschmidt<\/a> and starting a double play.<\/p>\n

“That was a tough one,” Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said. “We’ll take it. It comes down to the pitchers competed all night, some of them were sharp, some of them weren’t.”<\/p>\n

The Diamondbacks trailed 1-0 entering the ninth, but Geraldo Perdomo<\/a> and Corbin Carroll<\/a> connected for back-to-back triples off closer Diaz to tie it. Diaz recovered to retire the next three batters, stranding Carroll at third to send the game to extra innings.<\/p>\n

Tucker hit a solo homer to break a scoreless tie in the eighth, driving the second pitch he saw from reliever Jonathan Loaisiga<\/a> over the right-field wall.<\/p>\n

“It wasn’t pretty,” Roberts said. “Offensively, we’ve just got to get going. It’s hard to win games when your margin for winning is a razor’s edge. It’s not like guys aren’t trying, but it’s a tough way to pitch, and have to be perfect.”<\/p>\n

Arizona’s Brandon Pfaadt<\/a> and Los Angeles’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto<\/a> were locked in an impressive pitcher’s duel for most of the evening, with both right-handers breezing through the opposing lineup.<\/p>\n

Pfaadt made it through seven innings, giving up just two hits and two walks while striking out two. He has a 1.32 ERA over eight starts since returning from Triple-A Reno.<\/p>\n

“It’s been a little bit of a grind lately,” Tucker said. “[We] haven’t played our best brand of baseball. But it’s a long season, and it can happen at times. So, I’m glad to be back in the win column, and hopefully, we can continue that tomorrow.”<\/p>\n

Tucker’s homer in the eighth was his 11th of the season and one of his best moments with the Dodgers after signing a $240 million, four-year deal during the offseason.<\/p>\n

“Hitting’s tough — especially in this league,” Tucker said. “Everyone throws really hard; everyone has multiple pitches and when they locate them well it’s tough to hit. But we’re confident in our ability as hitters and there’s a lot of great ones in this lineup. You’ve just got to keep moving forward.”<\/p>\n

The Diamondbacks managed to drive up Yamamoto’s pitch count into the 80s by the sixth inning, which started with a Gabriel Moreno<\/a> single and Ketel Marte<\/a> walk. Yamamoto retired the next two batters but was then replaced by Evan Phillips<\/a> after throwing 107 pitches.<\/p>\n

Yamamoto gave up three walks and three hits while striking out six over 5 innings.<\/p>\n

Arizona left 15 runners on base in the loss.<\/p>\n
