WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. \u2013 An Oakland County woman who pleaded guilty to driving drunk along the base of the slopes at Alpine Valley, endangering skiers, snowboarders and children, was sentenced on Thursday to 30 days in jail.<\/p>\n

Margaret Feely, 58, of Bingham Farms, will also be required to serve two years probation in connection with the Feb. 24 OWI-third offense charge.<\/p>\n

According to prosecutors, witnesses reported seeing Feely<\/a> smoke what appeared to be marijuana before driving her car along the base of the slopes at the White Lake Township ski resort while reportedly wearing snow boots.<\/p>\n

Police officers who attempted sobriety tests reported Feely showed poor balance, slurred speech, and was hostile \u2014 at one point referring to an officer as \u201cNazi dude,\u201d prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis defendant endangered children with her irresponsible actions,\u201d Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. \u201cThere is no excuse to drive impaired, even once. If you\u2019ve had too much to drink or are under the influence of marijuana or other drugs, call a friend, call an Uber, just don\u2019t drive. If you do, we will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.\u201d <\/p>\n

Feely is also prohibited from driving for one year and will be required to pay roughly $700 in court fees.<\/p>\n
