(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/three-children-as-young-as-12-arrested-in-deadly-east-bakersfield-shooting-crane-street-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Three boys ages 12, 13, and 16<\/a> are facing murder and other charges in connection with a deadly shooting in east Bakersfield that killed 53-year-old Eric Lancaster.<\/p>\n<p>The boys are accused in the July 18 shooting on Crane Street. Another person was also hurt and was identified by family in a GoFundMe as Lancaster\u2019s father, Wes.<\/p>\n<p>All three suspects are charged with murder, attempted murder and participating in a criminal street gang.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/east-bakersfield-shooting-leaves-one-dead-and-another-hospitalized-crane-street-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PREVIOUS REPORTING: East Bakersfield shooting leaves 53-year-old man dead and another hospitalized<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Kern County District Attorney\u2019s Office said the 12-year-old\u2019s proceedings have been suspended pending a competency exam, with the medical report set to be heard Sept. 2. The 13-year-old suspect\u2019s next hearing is Monday. Both the 12 and 13-year-olds are accused of using semi-automatic weapons in the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors have also filed a motion seeking to transfer the 16-year-old\u2019s case to adult court. Under California law, the 12 and 13-year-olds cannot be transferred to adult court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
