They are reviving it as a music venue and nightclub, according to Andrew Wasilewski, the incoming owner and general manager.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">The Folsom Street Foundry stopped operations July 27 and is expected to reopen Aug. 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">Wasilewski cofounded and operated the Faight Collective, an artist space in Lower Haight. \u201cThe Faight really showed me what it means to bring together communities of people around specific ideas,\u201d he said, adding that he sees an opportunity to apply that same philosophy to nightlife.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">Central to the venue\u2019s identity is a rule of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefoundry.club\/floor\/phone-free-dance-floor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">no phones on the dance floor (opens in new tab)<\/a>, requested with stickers and signage. \u201cThe culture we want to set is when you\u2019re on our dance floor, you\u2019re there to be present and be engaged,\u201d he said, pointing to clubs in Berlin and New York as influences.
