By the time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eater.com\/2012\/4\/9\/6598021\/anthony-bourdain-on-leaving-the-layover-and-the-allure-of-normalcy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Bourdain blew up the spot on The Layover in 2012<\/a>, the inside seating was long gone, the neighborhood had largely gentrified, and TVC had become beloved by locals, celebrated for its comforting, affordable burritos and a smoky chile de arbol salsa. Now, after three decades and multiple generations of ownership, the founding Reza-Flores family has opened a second outpost. The new Tacos Villa Corona in Eagle Rock is as good as the original, with the same spicy salsa, warm service, and patio seating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">These burritos travel well, <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/maps\/best-burritos-los-angeles-mexican\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">as any good burrito should<\/a>, and make an excellent pairing with one of the area\u2019s many excellent coffee shops, like Kumquat, Creature\u2019s, and PDA, to name a few.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">These are not the flashy, extravagant pockets that dominate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eater.com\/2023\/4\/11\/23673189\/golden-state-burritos\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">collective burrito consciousness<\/a>. They are smaller, bordering on austere, and distinctly not camera-ready.
