(KBAK\/KBFX)  \u2014 U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/topic\/RFK%20Jr.\\\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> arrived in Bakersfield Thursday for a roundtable discussion focused on improving access to healthy foods and strengthening nutrition education across the Central Valley.<\/p>\n<p>JFK Jr. is expected to meet with local and federal partners to discuss efforts surrounding healthy food access, nutrition and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>According to event organizers, the roundtable will also highlight the hands-on educational programs offered through Edible Schoolyard Kern County, which teaches students about healthy foods and sustainable practices.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy will be joined by Congressman <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/topic\/Vince%20Fong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Vince Fong<\/a> and Dylan Wilson, executive director of the Grimm Family Education Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The roundtable is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>BakersfieldNow will stream the event live <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/watch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">here<\/a> and on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@Bakersfieldnow\/streams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">YouTube page<\/a> as it gets underway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
