BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 15 people were arrested, 14 others were cited, and one dog was seized during a multi-agency operation addressing quality-of-life concerns near East 21st and Baker streets on August 12. A loaded gun was allegedly found and two vehicles were impounded.<\/p>\n
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department Impact Unit, City of Bakersfield Code Enforcement, the Rapid Response Team, and the Animal Control Unit responded to the area of E 21st and Baker Street after numerous reports of quality-of-life concerns in the area.<\/p>\n
Police said before their response, Flood Ministries went to the area and connected one person to the Brundage Lane Navigation Center.<\/p>\n
The operation ended with 15 people getting arrested for various charges including lodging in public, possession of drug paraphernalia, and active warrants. One person was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded gun and was arrested for the appropriate charges, according to police.<\/p>\n
Police said 14 people were cited for misdemeanor charges related to illegal lodging and blocking a sidewalk.<\/p>\n
BPD said one dog was seized and taken to the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center, where it will be cared for until the owner\u2019s release.<\/p>\n
One person was transported for medical treatment. Two vehicles were impounded.<\/p>\n
