Officers caught up with him Saturday, when they detained him as he was allegedly pulling the stunts in the rented pickup.

The U-Haul antics caused an estimated $5,153 in damage, according to police.

The teen was booked into San Diego County Central Jail on charges including felony vandalism, exhibition of speed and reckless driving.

But his legal problems may be just getting started.

Investigators have linked him to several earlier incidents involving similar activity, police said.

Those cases remain under investigation, with additional charges possible.
