{"id":434026,"date":"2026-08-15T20:06:34","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T20:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/434026\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T20:06:34","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T20:06:34","slug":"billionaire-tech-investor-scoops-up-another-fillmore-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/434026\/","title":{"rendered":"Billionaire tech investor scoops up another Fillmore building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Published Aug. 14, 2026at10:35am<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">When a tech investor bought a slew of commercial properties on Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights in 2024, it sparked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/sf\/article\/vc-hostile-takeover-fillmore-neighborhood-19719260.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">fears of a \u201chostile takeover\u201d (opens in new tab)<\/a> that could displace <a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2024\/08\/26\/upper-fillmore-street-real-estate-neil-mehta\/\" data-post-id=\"be31fa0c-e755-462e-8ba7-1692abaaff2d\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">beloved businesses.<\/a> Two years later, street-level changes have begun to appear, with several new establishments on their way in and another building scooped up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">A group associated with venture capitalist Neil Mehta and his business partner Cody Allen recently purchased the property at 2035-2047 Fillmore St. for around $8.6 million, according to city records \u2014\u00a0and this time, some stakeholders are celebrating.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">\u201cThe space has been sitting empty, and it will be amazing to have it start to get worked on,\u201d said Tim Omi, president of the <a href=\"https:\/\/fillmorestreetsf.com\/about\/fma3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Fillmore Merchants Association (opens in new tab)<\/a>.
