SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN)\u2014 A pedestrian remains hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by two vehicles Friday night in South Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.<\/p>\n
Just after 9 p.m., officers responded to the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.<\/p>\n
Officer Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson, said the pedestrian was initially struck by a vehicle that fled the scene before officers arrived.<\/p>\n
The pedestrian was then struck by a second vehicle. That driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Gamble said.<\/p>\n
The pedestrian, identified only as a male, was transported to an area hospital, where he remained in critical condition Saturday.<\/p>\n
Police did not immediately release a description of the vehicle or driver sought in connection with the initial collision.<\/p>\n
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.<\/p>\n
