One of Fresno\u2019s most popular restaurants is planning a second location.<\/p>\n

Heirloom<\/a> will open a location in Clovis, the owners confirmed Thursday. The restaurant will be in a yet-to-be built stand-alone building near Herndon and Fowler avenues, just east of the shopping center that\u2019s home to Butterfish, Chipotle and Five Guys.<\/p>\n

Heirloom is a \u201cFresno famous\u201d restaurant at Friant Road at Fresno Street. People often line up outside the eatery waiting to get in, despite not being a full-service restaurant. Customers order at the counter and their food is brought to them.<\/p>\n

But the farm-to-table menu is popular, with Heirloom ranking as No. 4 favorite restaurant<\/a> among Bee readers.<\/p>\n

Fans will have to wait for the new location. It hasn\u2019t broken ground yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s currently a dirt lot,\u201d noted Brandon Smittcamp, who owns the restaurant with partners Rema and Kevin Koligian, and chef Justin Shannon.<\/p>\n

Construction is expected to start in four or five months. They are shooting to open in late 2027 or early 2028, he said.<\/p>\n

The partners are also behind other popular Fresno-area restaurants, including Saizon<\/a>, Butterfish California Poke<\/a>, Mayd Modern Mediterranean<\/a> and Otherside Cafe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Word of a second Heirloom has been circulating in the community for months. But until the deal was finalized, the owners didn\u2019t want to share details.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe finally have a signed lease on Heirloom, so that is a done deal,\u201d Smittcamp told The Bee on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Clovis Heirloom<\/p>\n

The new restaurant will have the same farm-driven menu and counter-style service as the existing location.<\/p>\n

Although the menu changes with what\u2019s in season, popular options include the tri-tip, the Santa Maria burger and the mushroom taquitos.<\/p>\n

The new restaurant will have a patio. And it will have a walk-up window for online orders like the Fresno location.<\/p>\n

Many of the other details are still being worked out in the design process.<\/p>\n

But deciding to open Clovis was an easy choice, Rema Koligian said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Clovis grows,\u201d she said, \u201cit was a natural fit to want to serve that community.\u201d<\/p>\n
