Noah Kahan<\/a>\u00a0brought out\u00a0Chappell Roan<\/a>\u00a0for a surprise performance of her song \u2018California\u2019 at the Rose Bowl \u2013\u00a0watch footage below.<\/p>\n

The Vermont singer-songwriter\u00a0played\u00a0the Pasadena, California stadium last night (August 15) as part of his \u2018The Great Divide Tour\u2019, performing a huge 27-track set to a sold-out crowd.<\/p>\n

During the\u00a0final section, he welcomed Roan to the\u00a0stage\u00a0and they played \u2018California\u2019, the song from her 2023 debut album \u2018The Rise\u00a0And\u00a0Fall\u00a0Of\u00a0A\u00a0Midwest Princess<\/a>\u2018\u00a0that\u00a0she wrote about leaving her home in Missouri to make a career in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\u201cNoah always stands up for me,\u00a0he\u2019s a good person, for real,\u201d Roan told the crowd, before he joined her on acoustic guitar for the performance.<\/p>\n

Kahan has\u00a0publicly supported\u00a0Roan\u00a0a number of\u00a0times,\u00a0dating back to their co-headline show at Iowa\u2019s Hinterland Festival in 2024<\/a>, when he said he was \u201creally here for Chappell Roan\u201d and described watching her set as the \u201cmost electric shit ever\u201d.<\/p>\n

Last year,\u00a0he matched her $25,000 donation to support healthcare access for struggling musicians<\/a>, and earlier this year,\u00a0he defended Roan against\u00a0\u201cscummy\u201d\u00a0professional autograph\u00a0\u201cscalpers\u201d<\/a>\u00a0after\u00a0she was surrounded by photographers in Paris.<\/p>\n

Kahan\u2019s tour is in support of his fourth album \u2018The Great Divide<\/a>\u2018, which was released in April.\u00a0He performed the title track and \u2018Doors\u2019 on\u00a0Saturday Night Live\u00a0in May<\/a>.\u00a0The North American leg of the tour continues this week, before heading to Glasgow,\u00a0Manchester\u00a0and London in November. He has\u00a0also\u00a0recently been jokingly\u00a0calling on\u00a0Congress to get involved and force his fans to wear diapers to gigs<\/a>, after some were found to be defecating on the floors of his shows.<\/p>\n

Roan, meanwhile,\u00a0made a surprise appearance during Rosal\u00eda\u2019s show in Oakland last month<\/a>, where she made a\u00a0confession about the meaning of her song \u2018Casual\u2019.<\/p>\n
