(KGET) \u2014 The Bakersfield Police Department was dispatched to an apartment off Mohawk Street on Saturday, responding to a domestic violence incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When law enforcement arrived at the apartment on the 900 block of Mohawk Street on Aug. 15 around 8:32 a.m., they determined that the suspect, 34-year-old Juan Segura, was inside the apartment with three minors and armed with knives, BPD said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a data-ylk=\"slk:Watch 17 News, After Sunrise and more local news free on your smart TV. Click to learn more about KGET+\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police said that Segura refused to exit the building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bakersfield police officers assigned to the department&#8217;s Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT officials responded to the apartment to assist officers in ensuring the three minors in the apartment were safe while Segura was taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">About two hours after law enforcement arrived on the scene, Segura exited the apartment and was arrested without incident, BPD said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Segura was arrested for charges related to domestic violence and child abuse and endangerment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
