Most real estate listings<\/a> boast about \u201ctremendous views,\u201d but a $4.7 million Newport Beach home<\/a> in Cliff Haven is selling something far less serene \u2013\u2013 a front-row seat to a massive condo construction<\/a> site.<\/p>\n The elevated property, according to a Zillow listing<\/a>, offers \u201ctremendous views of Fashion Island, Saddleback Mountain and the Castaways,\u201d along with the promise of \u201ceven more vistas through future expansion or redevelopment.\u201d<\/p>\n But, the mansion currently offers depressing views of barren land with a backhoe loader as the main attraction \u2014 a sign of the abysmal times in the crisis-stricken California housing market<\/a>, it seems.<\/p>\n The house is located in Newport Beach\u2019s Cliff Haven neighborhood. Instagram\/@jerryzaiden<\/p>\n Jerry Zaiden, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at MagnaFlow, took to Instagram to share a video of the property Saturday. \u201cThis is what you get in Newport Beach, California for $4.7 million dollars. 3500 feet-squared on a 9100 square-foot lot built in 1953,\u201d he captioned the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n Instagram users quickly jumped in with their views: One user didn\u2019t mince words, writing, \u201cWhat a dump.\u201d One of the bathrooms in the home even has an awkwardly positioned toilet which is partially buried in the wall.<\/p>\n \u201cA $4.7M purchase to rebuild with a dirt lot\/condo view sounds like luxury,\u201d Orange County resident Juliana Vittoria Kiesselbach commented.<\/p>\n The mansion sits just off 17th Street in Newport Beach. Google Maps<\/p>\n Another user, who said they had moved to Tennessee from the Golden State, said: \u201cHell to the no no and that\u2019s why I moved to Tennessee six years ago \u2026 40 acres 4300 square-foot home for $700,000 and now worth double.\u201d<\/p>\n Others online found the listing way too overpriced for the multi-million dollar price tag.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat a friggin joke. I\u2019ll give ya $600,000 and not a goddamn penny more.
