(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A DUI\/Driver\u2019s License checkpoint and a DUI saturation patrol by Bakersfield police ended with two drivers arrested, seven drivers cited, and five vehicles impounded.<\/p>\n<p>The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI\/Driver\u2019s License Checkpoint on Friday, August 14th, 2026, in the 10700 block of Brimhall Road between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The checkpoint was held in conjunction with a DUI saturation patrol event.<\/p>\n<p>Bakersfield police said that at the checkpoint, 463 vehicles were screened by officers. Three drivers were detained for further evaluation to determine their sobriety influence level. One driver was cited for driving on a suspended license and one vehicle was impounded for 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>During the DUI saturation patrol, 40 traffic stops were made. Two drivers were arrested for DUI, six drivers were cited for various traffic violations, and four vehicles were impounded.<\/p>\n<p>The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
