As temperatures rise across Los Angeles County this week, beachgoers were being advised Monday to avoid the ocean at eight beaches where tests showed elevated bacteria levels.<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued ocean water warnings for the following locations:<\/p>\n
\u2014 Redondo Beach Pier in Redondo Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier;<\/p>\n
\u2014 East Wilshire Boulevard storm drain at Santa Monica Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Avenue I storm drain at Redondo Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Wilshire Boulevard storm drain at Santa Monica Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove, 100 yards up and down the coast from Paradise Cove Pier;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach, entire swim area;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, entire swim area; and<\/p>\n
\u2014 Santa Monica Pier, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.<\/p>\n
The warnings were issued after recent water samples found bacteria levels exceeding state health standards, according to the department.<\/p>\n
A previous warning for Hermosa Beach Pier in Hermosa Beach was lifted after recent samples showed water quality levels within state standards.<\/p>\n
