{"id":437854,"date":"2026-08-20T01:38:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T01:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/437854\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T01:38:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T01:38:10","slug":"central-valley-hospitals-recognized-for-heart-and-stroke-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/437854\/","title":{"rendered":"Central Valley hospitals recognized for heart and stroke care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nine hospitals throughout the central San Joaquin Valley were recognized for their healthcare regarding heart disease and strokes.<\/p>\n<p>Among those in Fresno County highlighted by the American Heart Association were Clovis Community Medical, Fresno Community Regional Medical Center, Kaiser Foundation Hospital and Saint Agnes Medical Center<\/p>\n<p>The hospitals received praise for their commitment for improving care for patients dealing with heart disease and stroke through <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heart.org\/en\/professional\/quality-improvement\/get-with-the-guidelines\">\u201cGet With The Guidelines\u201d<\/a> quality improvement programs.<\/p>\n<p>Heart disease and stroke are two of the top four causes of death in the United States, according to the American Heart Association <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ahajournals.org\/doi\/10.1161\/CIR.0000000000001412\">2026 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics report.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>These conditions require swift, proven treatment to achieve the most optimal outcome.<\/p>\n<p>Nationwide, more than 3,000 hospitals take part in efforts for top heart disease and stroke healthcare, helping ensure patients receive care aligned with the most up\u2011to\u2011date, research\u2011based treatment guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Other Central Valley hospitals recognized were: Adventist Health Hanford, Mercy Medical Center in Merced, and Tulare County\u2019s Kaweah Delta Health Care District, Sierra View Medical Center and Adventist Health Tulare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeart disease and stroke remain leading health threats across the Central Valley,\u201d said American Heart Association Central Valley executive director Megan Starr in a news release. \u201cThe hospitals recognized through the Get With The Guidelines program are helping ensure more people in the Central Valley receive evidence-based care when it matters most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With Get With The Guidelines, hospitals use real\u2011time data, clinical best practices and performance feedback to improve adherence to evidence\u2011based care for conditions such as stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in Get With The Guidelines has been associated with better patient outcomes, fewer readmissions and lower mortality.<\/p>\n<p>        Related Stories from  Fresno Bee<\/p>\n<p>                <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/profile\/218451040\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                        <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"author-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1787189890_636_BJ mugshot.JPG\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" alt=\"Profile Image of Bryant-Jon Anteola\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n                    <\/a><\/p>\n<p>                <a class=\"author-name\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/profile\/218451040\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bryant-Jon Anteola<\/a><\/p>\n<p>                    The Fresno Bee<\/p>\n<p>            Bryant-Jon Anteola is a multimedia reporter for The Fresno Bee, writing stories and producing videos about sports, news and random topics relatable to those in the Fresno area.
