{"id":439099,"date":"2026-08-21T05:36:31","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T05:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/439099\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T05:36:31","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T05:36:31","slug":"sf-sheriff-accused-of-hiding-tv-crews-role-in-child-exploitation-sting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/439099\/","title":{"rendered":"SF sheriff accused of hiding TV crew\u2019s role in child exploitation sting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Published Aug. 19, 2026at4:26pm<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">Attorneys representing several men charged in a child exploitation sting have accused the San Francisco Sheriff\u2019s Office of delaying the release of evidence from a television production crew that was instrumental in setting up the arrests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">Since the arrests of five men last month, during which TV personality Chris Hansen was allowed to interrogate the defendants, the cases have progressed in unusual ways.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">Hansen, host of the former \u201cTo Catch a Predator\u201d franchise, and his production company were embedded with law enforcement, waiting in a San Francisco home when the defendants arrived, allegedly expecting to have sex with a minor. The production company TruBlu has a contract with the sheriff\u2019s office, but the San Francisco District Attorney\u2019s office has asked the public defender to sign a confidentiality agreement before allowing the defense to see the deal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left\">\u201cIt\u2019s outrageous how much information the S.F.
