BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A mother and her two daughters were killed early Sunday when a wrong-way driver <\/a>triggered a fiery three-vehicle crash on a California highway, authorities said.<\/p>\n

The California Highway Patrol said officers responded around 12:44 a.m. Aug. 16 to the crash on southbound Highway 99 in Bakersfield, north of 7th Standard Road.<\/p>\n

CHP said the crash involved a 2022 Honda Accord driven by an unidentified female, a white 2019 BMW 530i driven by a 44-year-old man, and a white 2022 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by a 41-year-old woman.<\/p>\n

CHP said investigators are currently looking into which vehicle was driving the wrong way.<\/p>\n

As a result of the crash, the Honda immediately became engulfed in flames, and all three people inside died, according to CHP.<\/p>\n

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the three killed as 41-year-old Vanessa Sue Wetmore, 20-year-old Kylie Wetmore, and 16-year-old Kloie Wetmore, all of Bakersfield. The coroner’s reports said Kylie was the driver of the vehicle and Vanessa and Kloie were the passengers.<\/p>\n

According to the GoFundMe, the mother and two daughters were heading home from Fresno after a concert.<\/p>\n

The driver and solo occupant of the BMW sustained severe injuries, and the two people in the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries from the crash.<\/p>\n
