{"id":439608,"date":"2026-08-21T17:58:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T17:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/439608\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T17:58:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T17:58:13","slug":"diane-warren-adopts-viral-west-hollywood-pig-wilbur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/439608\/","title":{"rendered":"Diane Warren adopts viral West Hollywood pig Wilbur"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2026-08-18\/catch-that-pig-be-hero-pursuit-in-west-hollywood-goes-viral\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">piglet that captured Los Angelenos\u2019 hearts and minds<\/a> after its attempts to elude multiple pursuers in West Hollywood last weekend went viral has been adopted by a foundation headed by Grammy-award-winning songwriter Diane Warren. <\/p>\n<p>Named Wilbur by the hive mind of social media, the animal blew up online after resident Jamaal Harrison <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@themedicalmiracle\/video\/7674334321741745422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">posted a video to TikTok<\/a> on Saturday showing his futile attempts to catch it on an e-bike. <\/p>\n<p>Though he couldn\u2019t catch it, the fame he brought upon the animal almost certainly changed its life \u2014 from the mean streets and hard asphalt of West Hollywood to a lush sanctuary with lots of friends and nary a concern for his next meal. <\/p>\n<p>The piglet was caught by someone else and taken to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter, which put the animal up for adoption five days later because no owner had come forward. Wilbur is about 11 weeks old and weighs 17 pounds, the animal shelter said. <\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the animal shelter held a silent auction among the four contenders who had come forward wanting to adopt him.
