Macomb County police this week seized dozens of grams of fentanyl along with thousands of dollars and two weapons following a monthlong investigation into alleged drug houses in Macomb and Oakland counties.<\/p>\n
According to a news release, the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) on Wednesday, Aug. 19 executed search warrants in Fraser in Macomb County and in West Bloomfield in Oakland County. The searches topped off an investigation of an individual selling narcotics in the Metro Detroit area, Michigan State Police said in the release.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn total, detectives seized over 90 grams of fentanyl, over 50 grams of cocaine, approximately 5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, various prescription pills (xanax and alprazolam), and 2 handguns,\u201d state police said.<\/p>\n
Investigators also seized over $14,500 in cash with intent to forfeit.<\/p>\n
Authorities did not release the locations of the two properties where the drugs were located.<\/p>\n
The suspect was being held at the Macomb County Jail pending review by the Macomb County Prosecutor\u2019s Office. The suspect\u2019s name, age, and residence were not released.<\/p>\n
COMET was assisted by Michigan State Police troopers from the 1st District Headquarters and the Fraser Police Department.<\/p>\n
COMET is an undercover drug task force made up of officers from Chesterfield Township, the Macomb County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Michigan State Police, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township, and federal agencies.<\/p>\n
