(KGET) \u2014 Kern County is inviting families to the annual Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Beale Memorial Library at 701 Truxtun Ave., according to county officials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kids of all ages can climb aboard, explore and interact with trucks and vehicles that serve the community, the county said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">That includes a garbage truck, oil tanker, tow truck and more, according to organizers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/bakersfield-symphony-orchestra-honor-veterans-183935308.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra to honor veterans with \u2018An American Salute\u2019;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra to honor veterans with \u2018An American Salute\u2019 <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">They can also meet everyday heroes who build, protect and serve Kern County, according to county officials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Families can also enjoy interactive activities inside the library, as well as food trucks at the site, Kern County Library said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A special quiet time is set to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for children who\u2019d prefer a calmer environment before the main event starts, according to organizers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
