Tickets<\/a> to see Guillermo del Toro<\/a> introduce a brand-new 3D restoration of Pan\u2019s Labyrinth in Los Angeles disappeared fast. But if you missed out, there\u2019s still a chance to get inside the sold-out screening.<\/p>\n

The North American premiere of Pan\u2019s Labyrinth in 3D is happening at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures<\/a> on Thursday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m., with del Toro himself appearing in person to introduce the film.<\/p>\n

The highly anticipated screening is already listed as sold out, but the Academy Museum has a standby system that could give hopeful moviegoers another shot at tickets.<\/p>\n

How to get into the sold-out screening<\/p>\n

If you didn\u2019t manage to grab a ticket, don\u2019t give up hope just yet!<\/p>\n

The Academy Museum<\/a> says that additional tickets may be released at 9 a.m. on the day of the event through the screening\u2019s ticket page.<\/p>\n

There will also be a standby line on the day of the screening, with tickets sold on a first-come, first-served basis depending on available seats. The museum notes that standby admission is not guaranteed, so you\u2019ll want to arrive early and be prepared to wait it out.<\/p>\n

The museum\u2019s general policy confirms that sold-out screenings have standby lines unless otherwise indicated, with limited tickets potentially becoming available because of open seats.<\/p>\n

In other words \u2013 refresh the ticket page at 9 a.m. on October 1, then head to the Academy Museum early if you\u2019re still empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Why everyone wants to see it<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t just another screening of Pan\u2019s Labyrinth. The 2006 dark fantasy classic will be shown in a brand-new 3D restoration, which del Toro personally supervised using the original 35mm negative.<\/p>\n

The filmmaker will also be there in person to introduce the film.<\/p>\n

The movie follows 10-year-old Ofelia, who discovers a mysterious labyrinth in the forest while living in Francoist Spain. There, a faun tells her that she is a long-lost princess and gives her three magical tasks to complete.<\/p>\n

The film went on to earn six Academy Award nominations, winning three for Art Direction, Cinematography and Makeup.<\/p>\n
