FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — For some homebuyers, a $10,000 boost could make the difference in being able to get the keys to a home.<\/p>\n
That is the maximum available under a down payment assistance program through the Beyond Housing Foundation.<\/p>\n
“The goal is to make sure that low-income and moderate-income families, who otherwise qualify, but just need a little funding to close the gap and realize their homeownership dreams,” says Tiffany Mangum, Beyond Housing Foundation Executive Director.<\/p>\n
A similar program helped 35 families get into a home a year ago.<\/p>\n
The Beyond Housing Foundation<\/a> is taking applications once again. You can work with your lender or realtor.<\/p>\n Mangum says families making 80% of the median income qualify for the most aid, the $10,000.<\/p>\n “Roughly, you’re looking at a family of four making less than a total household income of about $60-70,000 or so,” she said.<\/p>\n Mangum says the non-profit’s mission is to empower families living on housing assistance.<\/p>\n “Help empower them around their educational goals and workforce goals,” she said. “It’s all about economic mobility.”<\/p>\n Seeing the families moving into their own house is emotional.<\/p>\n “It was a little bit of a tear-jerker,” Mangum said. “For many of the families we are serving, homeownership was just not in the cards for them.”<\/p>\n For news updates, follow Dale Yurong on Facebook<\/a> and Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
