Two first-half goals from junior midfielder Miah Thomas<\/a> led Cal Poly Women\u2019s Soccer to a 3-0 victory over San Jose State on Sunday at Spanos Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs honored graduating seniors Bailey Bracha<\/a>, Shelby Runje<\/a>, Annika Smith<\/a> and Siena Urzua<\/a>, alongside fifth-year players Sophia Minnite<\/a> and Alyssa Szarlacki<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cal Poly opened the scoring in the 27th minute when freshman Madison Lujan<\/a> drove into the box and took a shot that was saved before Thomas put away the rebound. Just over three minutes later, Thomas doubled the advantage by heading home a cross from Kenzie Herzing<\/a> off a sequence that began with a throw-in from Kammy MacLennan<\/a>. Lujan, Herzing and MacLennan each recorded their first collegiate points on the assists.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs added their third goal four minutes into the second half when Sam Liaty<\/a> hit a shot off the bottom of the crossbar following an assist from Smith. Liaty\u2019s goal was her first as a Mustang, while Smith registered her eighth career assist in her 34th consecutive start.<\/p>\n

Cal Poly secured its second shutout of the season, holding the Spartans without a shot on goal until the 78th minute. Junior goalkeeper Shannon Porubski<\/a> played the first half, and Szarlacki finished the match in net with five saves.<\/p>\n

Freshmen Delaney Franklin<\/a>, Suna Roberts<\/a> and Nina Souto<\/a> made their collegiate debuts in the match, while sophomores Maddy Cole<\/a> and Zoe Minnery<\/a> made their first appearances for Cal Poly.
