{"id":443800,"date":"2026-08-26T06:26:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T06:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/443800\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T06:26:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T06:26:15","slug":"officer-hospitalized-after-being-shot-in-san-jose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/443800\/","title":{"rendered":"Officer hospitalized after being shot in San Jose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN JOSE \u2014 An officer was taken to an area hospital after being shot Tuesday in San Jose, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting stemmed from an incident that started around 12:30 p.m. near Lick Avenue and Goodyear Street, the San Jose Police Department said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SJPD_PIO\/status\/2092446329566052721?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">social media post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn SJPD officer has been shot and transported to a local hospital,\u201d the post stated.<\/p>\n<p>Additional details about the shooting, including the officer\u2019s condition, were not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an active and ongoing investigation,\u201d the post stated.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters arrived at the scene to find \u201cone patient in full arrest,\u201d a term sometimes used for someone experiencing cardiac arrest, according to an emergency dispatch recording archived online. They also confirmed the officer was taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe officer that has been injured has been transported,\u201d a firefighter said in the recording.<\/p>\n<p>A heavy police presence was reported nearby at Almaden Avenue and Floyd Street, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcbayarea.com\/news\/local\/san-jose-police-officer-down\/4133129\/?_osource=SocialFlowTwt_BAYBrand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to NBC Bay Area<\/a>.
