Singh, director of acquisitions for Sana\u2019a Cafe, said the coffee shop is designed to welcome everyone \u2014 families, students, professionals, and coffee enthusiasts alike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to introduce something distinct,\u201d Singh told The Fresno Bee via phone. \u201cIt\u2019s about sharing a rich heritage and historic coffee tradition \u2014 inviting people to experience unique spices, tastes, and flavors in every cup.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Where\u2019s what to know:<\/p>\n<p>What is Sana\u2019a Cafe?<\/p>\n<p>Sana\u2019a Cafe got its start in San Francisco in 2023. It\u2019s named after Yemen\u2019s constitutional capital city.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the chain has expanded rapidly, growing to 16 <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thesanaacafe.com\/locations\/\">locations across California<\/a> and one in Washington state.<\/p>\n<p>That includes two <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/food-drink\/article316938790.html\">coffee shops in the Sacramento area<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Singh said Sana\u2019a Cafe plans to open 20 more locations over the next year.<\/p>\n<p>Where is new Fresno coffee shop?<\/p>\n<p>Sana\u2019a Cafe\u2019s newest location will occupy a roughly 6,000-square-foot space at 4470 West Shaw Ave. in Fresno near <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.costco.com\/w\/-\/ca\/fresno\/31\">Costco Wholesale<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a large space coming into a building that has been empty for a while,\u201d Singh said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the company\u2019s leaders were drawn to Fresno after studying its neighborhood demographics, accessibility and cultural mix.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were attracted to this area because it\u2019s a very diverse community with a vibrant local economy,\u201d Singh said. \u201cThere aren\u2019t many places where people can gather without a typical bar setting. We wanted to create a space that offers community, culture, and connection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fresno is home to one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/living\/food-drink\/bethany-clough\/article311532495.html#storylink=cpy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">California\u2019s largest Yemeni populations<\/a>, trailing behind Oakland.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Valley city is home to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/zipatlas.com\/us\/ca\/city-comparison\/total-immigrants-from-yemen.htm\">roughly 1,200 Yemeni residents<\/a>, according to data platform ZipAtlas.<\/p>\n<p>When will new Shaw Avenue coffeehouse open?<\/p>\n<p>Singh said Sana\u2019a Cafe\u2019s Fresno location is currently undergoing the city permitting process and interior demolition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will take a few months as we complete demolition and secure the remaining city permits,\u201d Singh said. \u201cWe expect the cafe to open in early 2027.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                                          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/SanaaCafe_pastries2.jpg\"   width=\"1200\" height=\"804\" title=\"SanaaCafe_pastries2.jpg\" alt=\"Sana'a Cafe opened at 2505 S. 38th St. in Tacoma in August 2025, serving Yemeni coffee, Adeni tea and Middle Eastern-style pastries. Kristine Sherred                                                                            ksherred@thenewstribune.com                                                                                        What\u2019s on the menu at Sana\u2019a Cafe?<\/p>\n<p>Rather than running a full kitchen on-site, Sana\u2019a Cafe relies on central bakeries to supply its signature pastries and desserts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/food-drink\/article316938790.html#:~:text=Sana\u2019a%20Cafe%20serves%20an%20assortment%20of%20coffee,%20including%20espresso,%20adeni%20tea,%20chai,%20and%20traditional%20Yemeni%20roasts.%20The%20cafe\u2019s%20dessert%20menu%20offers%20pistachio%20milk%20cake,%20rose%20milk%20cake,%20Turkish%20delight,%20chicken%20fatayet,%20and%20honeycomb%20cake.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sana\u2019a Cafe\u2019s menu<\/a> features espresso drinks such as cappucinos and lattes, as well as specialty drinks such as spiced adeni chai and Turkish coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Pastries include pistachio milk cake, honeycomb cake, tiramisu and Dubai chocolate cheesecake.<\/p>\n<p>Diners can also choose from food options such as chicken shawarma and beef turnovers.<\/p>\n<p>Prices for drinks and desserts will average between $5 and $7, Singh said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t aim for overly high prices, though cost varies by market depending on rent,\u201d Singh said. \u201cPrices naturally shift from location to location.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Singh, the cafe plans to offer discounts to law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n<p>Is new Fresno business hiring?<\/p>\n<p>Sana\u2019a Cafe expects to hire 20 to 30 employees once city permits are approved.<\/p>\n<p>Singh said that job seekers will be able to<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thesanaacafe.com\/\"> apply online<\/a> through the company\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>Where else are Sana\u2019a Cafe locations opening in California?<\/p>\n<p>Fresno isn\u2019t the only Central Valley city on Sana\u2019a Cafe\u2019s expansion list.<\/p>\n<p>The chain is set to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/food-drink\/article316938790.html#storylink=cpy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">open its third location in the Sacramento area<\/a> at Arden Fair mall during the first week of September, Singh said.<\/p>\n<p>A Modesto location will open by the end of this year, Singh said, although he declined to disclose the new coffee shop\u2019s exact location and opening date.<\/p>\n<p>More details will be announced closer to opening, he said.<\/p>\n<p> Loading\u2026<\/p>\n<p>        Related Stories from  Fresno Bee<\/p>\n<p>                <a class=\"author-name\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/profile\/316841195\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gagandeep Singh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>                    The Fresno Bee<\/p>\n<p>            Gagandeep Singh is a service journalism reporter for The Fresno Bee.
