<\/p>\nBAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Bakersfield police arrested two men suspected of being gang members late Wednesday night after a short chase in east Bakersfield. The incident later revealed a reported East Side Crips hangout and two guns.<\/p>\n
It happened at around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Columbus Street and Alta Vista Drive, when BPD’s Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) officers attempted to pull over a vehicle. The driver refused to pull over, leading to a brief pursuit.<\/p>\n
Shortly after, the suspect’s vehicle was found in the 700 block of Knotts Street. There, two men got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. They went into an apartment building at 700 Knotts Street, later identified as a known location associated with the East Side Crips criminal gang.<\/p>\n
Two women remained in the vehicle, later detained by officers.<\/p>\n
In a search of the vehicle, officers said they found a loaded 9mm unserialized Polymer80-style firearm, commonly referred to as a \u201cghost gun.\u201d <\/p>\n
After a search warrant was obtained for the apartment, officers said they found an additional firearm inside.<\/p>\n

The men who allegedly ran from law enforcement were identified as 20-year-old Jabauri Henderson and 21-year-old Raymond Lane. They were both arrested on firearms-related charges as well as resisting arrest and gang-related charges.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
Officials said the Bakersfield Police Department SEU will be conducting high-visibility and proactive patrols in an effort to reduce the potential for retaliatory shootings. <\/p>\n
