His cause of death is unknown.<\/p>\n<p>Maier, who was listed on the Bulldogs roster in the 2022-23 season as an offensive lineman at Fresno State, leaves behind his friends, family and school community.<\/p>\n<p>Maier attended Rim of the World High School and graduated in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/nate-the-mountain-maier?attribution_id=sl:f4e27eb5-6141-4c98-9e75-28f7cfe85572&amp;lang=en_GB&amp;ts=1787860346&amp;utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&amp;utm_content=amp30-treatment-7&amp;utm_medium=customer&amp;utm_source=copy_link&amp;cp_src=m&amp;fbclid=IwVERDUAT9qpZwZG9mBWZkaWQWUNSU3kEaUFJF7J9TzjW-X5zHCtW2wmV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkCjY2Mjg1NjgzNzkAAR732UZ5sFibXXT74qfD-p2EQ77ZISGXOuHLWlJvmd7Dv7yF_Fyufsasw0XgBg_aem_-2YIJ1Or28p_9V4y-MR7hg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GoFundMe<\/a> campaign has been organized by members of his Rim of the World Fighting Scots high school family, which is aiding in helping cover the funeral expenses and other costs. Today, the GoFundMe has almost reached their goal of $8,000 with over $4,000 raised.<\/p>\n<p>Although Maier was listed on the official Fresno State football roster for the 2022 season, <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/nate-maier-46104089\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">247sports<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4906211\/nate-maier\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESPN<\/a> website, he does not have any notable recorded stats or numbers for Fresno State.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dchy0Fcm0wG\/?img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram post <\/a>on an account named \u201cmemorycatcher2017,\u201d details Maier\u2019s success as an athlete.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve lost one of our own, Nate #55,\u201d said the account. \u201cHe was a fantastic athlete and student, playing football, track and field, and wrestling at Rim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The account also briefly details his time at Fresno State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe graduated in 2022 and went on to Fresno State, Nate left us far too soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During his time at Fresno State, Maier made a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NateXmaier\/status\/1687209678420463621\" rel=\"nofollow\">post to his X account<\/a> that detailed his leave of absence for the 2023 football season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to announce that for the 2023 season, I will be taking a leave of absence from football to address personal business in hopes to return by the Spring,\u201d Maier said in the post. \u201cThank you to Coach Tedford and the entire football staff for always being there for me, not just as an athlete but as a human.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/legacyupdates.homes\/nate-maier-obituary-rim-of-the-world-high-school-mourns-loss-of-student-who-passed-away\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">obituary<\/a> has also been made public online, which details how Rim of the World High School is mourning the loss of one of their own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dToday our association pauses to acknowledge a profound loss within our community.
