The suspect behind a deadly mass stabbing in Oakland this week was identified by police as a mentally disturbed homeless man on parole for a previous knifing spree.<\/p>\n

He was sent to prison for the attack and released on parole in 2023.<\/p>\n After his release, Rodriguez was hit with multiple parole violations and failed to find work, KTVU reported<\/a>. He allegedly tried to bite off a police officer\u2019s ear and swung a wooden board at two people.<\/p>\n A parole agent wrote last year that \u201cthere are no programs to appropriately address Rodriguez\u2019s escalating behavior, adding he \u201cposes a significant threat to the community.\u201d FOX<\/p>\n Police investigate a series of stabbings at several locations throughout East Oakland on Monday.
