(FOX26) \u2014 A driver was killed after crashing into a power pole on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency personnel responded to a car accident in the area of Willow Avenue and Iowa a bit before 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A vehicle struck a power pole, which sheared off from its base, and energized power lines fell on the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, firefighters reported the vehicle was fully involved with the power lines arcing on top of the car.<\/p>\n<p>The driver was reported dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Tulare Avenue and Willow Avenue are closed in both directions.<\/p>\n<p>According to PG&amp; E, about 2,296 customers are without power.<\/p>\n<p>Estimated restoration time is 11:30 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
