Gavin Newsom (D) for his signature.<\/p>\n<p>The bill (<a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202520260AB1883\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AB 1883<\/a>) got its final legislative vote in the state assembly Aug. 30 as California lawmakers consider how to legislate around a surge in the use of AI technologies in the workplace, including for surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>States have enacted relatively few laws restricting businesses\u2019 use of AI in employment decisions or personnel management.
