The Yankees end the month of August in Anaheim Monday night for the first game of a three-game series.

FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Yankees as -138 favorites on the road against the Angels, who have the second-worst home record in baseball this season.

Elmer Rodriguez will get his second start in the past week, and the sixth of his career as the Bombers look to keep the good vibes rolling.

Fellow rookie pitcher George Klassen was slated to get the start for the Angels, but was put on the IL Sunday with a lower back injury. Walbert Urena is expected to start for Klassen.

Yankees vs. Angels prediction, best bet

The Yankees are coming off a huge series win against the Red Sox that gave them breathing room in the AL wild card standings and the tiebreaker in the season series.

They are now 24-16 since the All-Star Break, which is the third-best record in the AL.

More importantly, the offense finally woke up for the pinstripes.

The Pinstripes scored a season-high 16 runs against the Red Sox Sunday and put up nine runs Saturday night.

They’ve now scored at least seven runs in five of their past eight games and look like a formidable lineup. In the previous 25 games, the Yankees averaged 3.5 runs and scored more than seven runs just three times.

Some of that success can be tied to Cody Bellinger’s return; he came off the IL in the game against the Blue Jays that kicked off this offensive explosion.

But the offensive turnaround has been as much about manufacturing runs as hitting homers. In Saturday’s win, the Yanks scored all nine of their runs via singles and sac flies.

The Yankees proved that they could rise to the occasion against one of the hottest teams in baseball, and now they have a chance to take advantage of one of the worst.

The Angels rank second-to-last in MLB in xwOBA and last in Whiff rate, which should be a welcome sign for Rodriguez. The rookie flashed his talent against the Astros, going six innings and allowing three earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts.

If the Bombers can maintain their offensive rhythm and Rodriguez replicates his performance against an even worse team, the Yankees should pick up their first win against the lowly Angels.
