(FOX26) \u2014 Part of Downtown Fresno is blocked early Tuesday morning after an officer-involved shooting.<\/p>\n<p><p>Pparolee in critical condition after officer-involved shooting in Downtown Fresno. (FOX26)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Fresno Police Department says officers first responded to a shot-spotter call just before 3 AM near Huntington Boulevard and Orchard Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, they saw a man with a gun and started to walk up to him.<\/p>\n<p>The man ran away as officer approached and began shooting.<\/p>\n<p>[RELATED] <a href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/one-woman-dead-after-shooting-in-madera\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Woman dies after being shot outside Madera Denny\u2019s, estranged husband arrested, both ID&#8217;d<\/a><\/p>\n<p><p>Officer-involved shooting in Downtown Fresno, parolee in critical condition (FOX26)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Two officers fired back, hitting the man.<\/p>\n<p>The man is in his 40s and is on parole with a long criminal history and is known to officers.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to the hospital for surgery and is currently in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>No officers were injured.<\/p>\n<p><p>Drone footage of Downtown Fresno officer-involved shooting crime scene (Photo: FOX26 photojournalist Byron Solorio)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Orchard Avenue between R St and the HWY 41 overpass will be closed for several hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
