(KABC) &#8212; Many questions remain unanswered following the <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/young-girl-among-bodies-found-dominguez-channel-carson\/19783206\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">discovery of two bodies<\/a>, including the remains of a young girl, in Carson over a two-day period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Carson Sheriff&#8217;s Station and the city of Carson plans to hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Thursday to discuss the two bodies found in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Officials are expected to provide further information during the briefing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It comes after the child&#8217;s body was found Tuesday floating in the Dominguez Channel near the Victoria Park Golf Course in Carson, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff&#8217;s Department. A patron of the golf course spotted the body and called emergency services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the badly decomposed remains were those of a female between the ages of 6 and 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">According to the Medical Examiner, the child had brown eyes and brown hair and weighed 59 pounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The discovery came a day before investigators responded to a second body found nearby.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">On Wednesday, detectives responded to a report of a body found among rocks along the Dominguez Channel just off Sepulveda Boulevard in Carson.
