Unfortunately, many older adults in this role experience isolation and don\u2019t always get the recognition they deserve.<\/p>\n
In honor of Grandparents Day on Sept. 13, The N.O.W Church<\/a> is opening its doors to families across Southern California for an afternoon of celebration and fun.<\/p>\n From 4-6:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy live music, games, mental health and wellness resources, and programming focused on our amazing grandparents.<\/p>\n “Once you get that ‘grandparent’ title, it’s like, retired,” Pastor E. Hamilton said.<\/p>\n “As a grandparent, I encourage other people to be more involved in the kids’ lives, take a load off the kids, you know, you’re now at a point where you can assist.”<\/p>\n Pastor E said this year\u2019s celebration is all about the smiles.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re putting something together pretty unique this year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe invite all to come out. This is all exclusive. It\u2019s nothing religional\u2026. it is just time to spend together, and celebrate one another at this joyous occasion.\u201d<\/p>\n No registration is necessary to attend.
