the Cohn Family<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe Cabrillo boys\u2019 water polo program is one of many that has faced a downward trend in sports participation over the last few years, but the Jaguars have a steady presence in longtime coach Lawrence Durand, who\u2019s looking to build some stability within his program.<\/p>\n
Cabrillo will have just a handful of returners, including senior dual-sport athlete Santiago Gonzalez and junior Ben Caro, who has continued to develop as a leader and utility player. The Jaguars will be very young this year but have a couple of promising newcomers in Ezequiel Romero and Angel Duque.<\/p>\n
Last year, the Jaguars finished 4-8 and were unable to pick up a Moore League win. Cabrillo\u2019s non-league slate this year consists of Montebello, Whitney, Mark Keppel, and Birmingham, and the Jags will begin league play at Millikan on Sept. 22.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will stabilize the program back to competitive play with Cabrillo\u2019s determination, courage, and passion from our athletes, administration, families and community,\u201d said Durand.<\/p>\n
