{"id":452817,"date":"2026-09-04T02:12:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T02:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/452817\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T02:12:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T02:12:09","slug":"man-found-dead-in-suspected-homicide-in-long-beach-press-telegram","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/452817\/","title":{"rendered":"Man found dead in suspected homicide in Long Beach \u2013 Press Telegram"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man\u2019s body was discovered in Long Beach on Thursday morning, Sept. 3, and police say detectives found signs of foul play.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. Thursday to the 6500 block of Muriel Avenue, north of the 91 Freeway, regarding reports of a deceased person in the area, according to the Long Beach Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Responding officers located the victim, but police said whoever killed him fled the scene before they arrived.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased was later identified as 33-year-old Kenneth Shannon of Long Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Police said his injuries were suspicious. Further information was not available. Details about what led to the fatal attack remain under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding the death is urged to contact homicide detectives Shear and Myers at 562-570-7244.
