Setting sail on the Queen Mary<\/a> isn’t a possibility these days, a fact that shouldn’t surprise anyone who has visited the now-and-forever-docked ocean-liner.<\/p>\n

The elegant transport arrived in Long Beach in 1967 and has stayed put ever since, welcoming visitors seeking atmospheric overnights, history tours, ghostly explorations, or a cocktail served in the ship’s Observation Bar, an Art Deco gem.<\/p>\n

But seekers of seasonal scares will go on a jump-filled journey of another sort, starting Sept. 18, when Dark Harbor<\/a> returns to the storied ship and outdoor event space just outside the Queen Mary.<\/p>\n

It’s the 13th outing for the fall event, shivers, with six mazes on the 2026 scare-a-bration’s haunting schedule. <\/p>\n

Rides, too, add to the eerie aura, with a new Alien Abduction ride and Blacklight Bumper Cars bringing a carnival-like vibe to the scene.<\/p>\n

Look for “new and reimagined theatrical experiences” on the Queen Mary have names that chill: “Lady Mabel Presents: Scary Mary’s Dark S\u00e9ance” invites brave guests to step inside a “paranormal investigation” that “spirals into a terrifying encounter” while “Gale’s Requiem” will lead guests into the belly of the ship for more spectral high jinks.<\/p>\n

Infirmary: The Siren Song, one of Dark Harbor’s six mazes, also stars Graceful Gale, eek; other mazes will put the frightful focus on the Queen Mary’s phantom-filled First-Class Swimming Pool and Room B340, a stateroom that is said to be the ship’s most spirited space.<\/p>\n

“Dark Harbor’s 13th season is an exciting milestone, and we’re celebrating by introducing new ways for guests to experience the haunted history of the Queen Mary,” said Star Romano, General Manager of Dark Harbor.<\/p>\n

“This year’s new mazes, rides, secret speakeasies and theatrical encounters expand the stories and experiences that make Dark Harbor unlike any other Halloween event.”<\/p>\n
