{"id":453437,"date":"2026-09-04T15:08:29","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T15:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/453437\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T15:08:29","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T15:08:29","slug":"23-year-old-driver-killed-in-west-long-beach-crash-police-say-long-beach-post-news-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/453437\/","title":{"rendered":"23-year-old driver killed in West Long Beach crash, police say \u2022 Long Beach Post News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police say a 23-year-old man was killed in a crash last month in West Long Beach when he made a U-turn and was slammed into by a pickup truck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The crash happened at about 8:38 p.m. on Aug. 15 on Anaheim Street near Hayes Avenue, according to Long Beach police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They said a man was driving a 2017 Cadillac sedan westbound on Anaheim Street, then made a U-turn near Hayes Avenue and was hit by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was heading eastbound on Anaheim Street, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives were notified on Aug. 28 that the victim from the crash had died in a hospital. He was identified as 23-year-old Alejandro Munoz, of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chevy driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Detectives do not believe impaired driving or distracted driving were factors in the crash, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The crash is Long Beach\u2019s 31st fatal crash of the year. At this time last year, the city had recorded 34 fatal crashes.
