(KGET) &#8212; A 13-year-old boy arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in east Bakersfield has been committed to a juvenile detention center for up to 36 weeks after admitting to charges of second-degree murder and assault with a gun, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Daniel Rios also was placed on probation until he&#8217;s 25 during a hearing Thursday in juvenile court, District Attorney&#8217;s Office spokesperson Daniela Gonzaga said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Due to his age, Rios could not be transferred to adult court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He could receive more time if he violates the terms of his probation &#8212; including in-custody offenses, Gonzaga said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Rios and two other teens, Adrian Valencia and Kyle Montijo, were arrested and charged with murder and other crimes following a shooting in July on Crane Street, according to sheriff&#8217;s officials. The other teens&#8217; cases were pending.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Eric Wesley Lancaster, 53, was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Also shot was Lancaster&#8217;s father,\u00a0<a data-ylk=\"slk:who spoke with 17 News;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kget.com\/news\/homicide-news\/bakersfield-dad-recalls-moment-his-son-was-allegedly-murdered-by-3-teens-something-i-will-never-forget\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">who spoke with 17 News<\/a>\u00a0about the incident.
